Case Management

Clients who receive OWF cash assistance and who have barriers to employment or participation in their work assignments, are provided with a Case Manager.  Such barriers may include physical or psychological problems, domestic violence, substance abuse, etc.  Case managers assess the client's needs and strengths, and assist them with referrals and linkages to a variety of resources.  The LCDJFS Case Manager monitors and encourages the client's progress to ensure they are moving to full participation.  Their primary function is to help clients overcome any barriers in their move to self-sufficiency.

In addition to serving their caseloads, Case Managers also provide outreach services at sites in Oberlin, Lagrange, Avon, and the Catholic Services Family Center, the Haven Center and Lorain County Health and Dentistry offices in Lorain.
