Absentee Day Reimbursement Policy
- An "absentee day" occurs when a child who is scheduled for care is absent.
- Providers can be reimbursed for up to 10 absentee days in a 6-month period.
- Providers can be reimbursed for the following types of absentee days:
- when a child does not attend due to illness/injury and no 24-hour notice was given to the provider
- when a child does not attend due to the caretaker parent's illness/injury and no 24-hour notice was given to the provider
- when a child's absence is due to the caretaker parent being laid off, losing their job, changing providers, etc., and no 24-hour notice was given to the provider. In this instance, the provider can be reimbursed for up to 3 days of care.
- when a child does not attend for any other reason and no 24-hour notice was given to the provider, the provider can be reimbursed for up to 1 day of care.
- Absentee days cannot be used for scheduled absences such as vacations.
- Absentee days cannot be used when the provider or a member of the provider's family is ill.
